Far Rockaway Couple Dies in Queens Hit-and-Run Crash on New Year’s Day

Queens, NY – A Far Rockaway couple died early morning on New Year’s Day after a hit-and-run crash at Rockaway Freeway and Ocean Crest Boulevard. The “inseparable” husband and wife met their tragic death when their Dodge Ram was pinned by a Nissan Rogue driven by a 60-year-old woman, who escaped the scene on foot. The two passengers of the Nissan SUV, men ages 37 and 33, remained in the pickup truck. The victims were taken to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
