Five People, Including a Firefighter, Injured in NYCHA Apartment Fire in the Bronx

Bronx, NY – Five people, including one firefighter, were injured during a fire that was caught in Mitchel Houses in the Mott Haven section of the borough in the Bronx. Around 80 firefighters were trying to put out the flames that started just after noon of February 8 inside the trash compactor of a 20-story high-rise New York City Housing Authority Apartment (NYCHA) building on East 138th Street. All patients were taken to Lincoln Hospital and Jacobi Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
