Four People Injured by Falling Tree Branch in Riverside Park on Upper West Side

Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY – Four people were hit and seriously injured by a falling tree branch on the Upper West Side park near West 91st Street around 6:00 p.m. of May 27.

FDNY said a man and three women, between the ages of 48 and 55, were sprawling on the grass in Riverside Park when the falling timber struck them. All victims, who sustained head and/or arm injuries, were rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital and now in stable condition. The Parks Department is now conducting an investigation and full inspection for the cause of the limb failure.
