Heart Attack Patient Dies En Route to Hospital as Fire Truck Collides with Ambulance He is In

Brooklyn, NY – A 59-year-old heart attack patient on his way to the hospital died when a fire truck collided with the ambulance he was being transported in. The fire truck, Ladder 102, en route to a fire in Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, T-boned the ambulance at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Throop Avenue just after 12:45 a.m. Thursday. The victim’s sister, who was in the ambulance with him, sustained serious injuries. Six firefighters and two EMS personnel were taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment of injuries.
