Police Officer Suffers Broken Legs After Being Struck by Bar Owner Attempting to Evade Arrest in Staten Island

Staten Island, NY – A bar owner attempted to evade arrest from flouting Covid-19 measures and struck a police officer upon trying to get away on December 6. A 34-year-old man who co-owns Mac’s Public House, a Staten Island bar, was arrested for violating coronavirus restrictions against in-door dining. Upon trying to get away, the suspect drove with the deputy holding onto the vehicle’s hood down South Railroad Avenue and then turning left onto two avenues more before being stopped by a sheriff’s vehicle. The cop suffered broken legs from the incident.
