Scooter Rider Fatally Struck by Alleged Drunk Driver in Manhattan

Manhattan, NYC – A 22-year-old Upper East Side man riding a Revel scooter was fatally struck by an alleged 44-year-old drunk driver of a Toyota Highlander near the First Avenue tunnel and East 48th Street in Midtown at around 11:15 p.m. Sunday. Reports said that the Highlander operator ran over the rider, who fell off from his out-of-control scooter. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, but could not be saved.
