Woman Driving While Intoxicated Hits 93- and 86-Year-Old Pedestrians in Massapequa

Massapequa, NY – Two elderly pedestrians, 93 and 86, were struck by a Long Island woman driving a 2019 Hyundai in Massapequa at around 6:30 p.m. on August 1. The shocking crash happened when the 50-year-old female driver hit the two senior citizens who were crossing the intersection near Merrick Road and East Shore Drive. Both victims were rushed to a local hospital, where the female patient, 86, suffered a broken pelvis. The Hyundai operator was arrested and charged with two counts each of vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
