The Bronx, NY – Seven cars were stranded and passengers were rescued by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) from a flooded Cross Bronx Expressway on January 7. A broken 48-inch water main caused many vehicles to be stranded near Jerome Avenue and West 175th Street in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx. A number of parked cars were submerged all the way up to their windows. No injuries were reported, but all roads nearby were shut down due to the flood.
