Galloway Man, who Attempts to Rob Cab Driver, Causes Crash

Staten Island, NY – A 20-year-old Galloway man, who attempted to rob a taxicab driver, caused a crash on Route 3 in Clifton, Staten Island early Monday morning. Based on the police report, the suspect demanded the cab driver’s phone and money; but when the driver refused to comply, he stabbed and slashed him in the shoulder, back and chest with a box cutter. This caused the driver to lose control of the taxi and led the vehicle to overturn several times on the highway. The suspect took off from the crash, but was later caught and charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, and multiple weapons offenses.
