Queens, NY – A forklift operator, 32, was trampled by his own powered industrial truck in a construction accidental mishap around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The victim (whose identity was not immediately disclosed) was thrown off from the forklift while maneuvering the heavy equipment outside a mosque on 211th St. near Jamaica Avenue in Queens. The heavy vehicle capsized and landed on the hardhat leaving him lifeless at the scene.
In jobs associated with construction of buildings, infrastructures, and industrial facilities, laws ensuring the safety of workers should be top priority. However despite precautions and strict policies, construction-related injuries still take place. Victims of construction accidents often suffer the consequences of surmounting medical bills, lost wages, and even permanent disability.
