Unlicensed Driver Charged with Hit-and-Run for a Fatal Car Crash in Dix Hills, Long Island

Long Island, NY – A 22-year-old man driving a 2009 BMW 528i northbound on Straight Path and Seaman Neck Road, Long Island, struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway at the intersection of Clarendon Street in Dix Hills at approximately 11:00 p.m. Saturday.

The BMW operator fled the scene but was arrested near his residence at 26 Yorktown Road around 12:30 a.m. The 51-year-old victim was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, but was pronounced dead.

The hit-and-run suspect faces a charge of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and received a summons for driving without a license. He was jailed overnight at the Second Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
