Revel Scooter Crash in Brooklyn Killed TV Reporter

Brooklyn, NY – A 26-year-old local television journalist died from a scooter accident near the intersection of Franklin and India Streets in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn at around 5:30 p.m. on July 18. Allegedly, the tragic incident occurred as the female TV reporter (who was a passenger) fell from the scooter that had been rented from Revel, a moped-sharing company whose Vespa-style vehicles have become popular in New York City. According to police report, the male scooter operator swerved for an unknown reason leading to their fall on the roadway. Both patients were rushed to Bellevue Hospital; however, the female victim could not be saved. The male driver, on the other hand, sustained minor injuries.
