Brooklyn man named Damian J. Simmons driving a stolen 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle died on Sunday, May 3 at around 4:15 p.m. after leading a New York State Police on a high speed chase toward the city of Peekskill. Instead of stopping, the 38-year-old motorcyclist fled southbound on State Route 9. The pursuit concluded when the motorcycle collided with a Nissan Altima that was also traveling southbound. Life-saving measures were initiated by troopers and EMS at the scene. Simmons was then brought to Westchester Medical Center where he later died due to his injuries.
