Drunk Driver Fleeing from Previous Crash Slams into NYPD Patrol Vehicle in Manhattan

Manhattan, NY – A drunk driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee sideswiped a parked SUV on East 21st Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan around 8:50 p.m. of June 11. While attempting to flee the accident scene, he crashed his vehicle head-on into an NYPD patrol car near Union Square. Two police officers, including the suspect (whose identity was not released), were injured from the collision and were taken to Bellevue Hospital. Allegedly, authorities found an open bottle of liquor in the front seat of the suspect’s vehicle. Charges against the Jeep operator are still pending.
