New Year’s Day Crash Claimed Two Lives in Bayswater

New York City – A New Year’s Day crash claimed the life of two people in Bayswater. The tragic incident occurred at around 5:00 a.m. on January 1 when the driver of a gray 2011 Dodge Ram speeding eastbound on the Rockaway Freeway collided with a 2019 Nissan Rouge headed northbound on Ocean Crest Boulevard. First responders discovered the Nissan occupants, 60 and 57, both unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to their heads and bodies. They were rushed to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, but both could not be saved. The Dodge male passengers, 37 and 33, remained at the scene, while the driver fled the scene on foot.
