Man Sustains Severe Injuries After Being Ejected from Stolen SUV During NYC Car Heist
Queens, NYC – A 28-year-old man had left his Lexus SUV running in a Taco Bell parking lot when three teens were captured on video getting inside. The victim then ran out and attempted to open the doors, but when the thieves hit the gas and sped down Lefferts Boulevard, the victim jumped on the SUV roof. Unfortunately, the thief behind the wheel lost control, resulting in a collision with a fire hydrant near Liberty Avenue, causing the SUV to flip over onto its side. The victim was thrown from the vehicle, sustaining severe trauma to the body, and was found unconscious on the ground. Two of the three teens were taken into custody and charged with assault, grand larceny auto, criminal possession of the stolen property, and unauthorized vehicle use.
