The Bronx, NY – A hit-and-run incident left a 51-year-old pedestrian dead while crossing the intersection of Prospect Avenue and East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx. Based on the NYPD report, an unidentified driver traveling at a high rate of speed struck him in the Crotona section of the borough at approximately half past 1 a.m. on July 14. The suspect eventually fled the scene. Police are still conducting a search and investigation on the vehicle and the person behind the wheel. Responding authorities determined the victim unconscious and unresponsive with severe injuries on the road when they arrived. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
