Two Seriously Injured After Multiple Vehicle Crash in South Beach, Staten Island
Staten Island, NY – A 1990 purple Ford Mustang operator, 39, together with a passenger, 29, was driving over the speed limit heading northbound on Sand Lane, Staten Island, New York mid-afternoon. According to the driver, his accelerator got stuck causing him to lose control over his car, and eventually sideswiping a southbound navy blue 2020 Jeep, then crashing into two parked cars – gray 2016 Volkswagen sedan and red 2004 Chevy sedan, and finally knocking down a utility pole at the intersection of Sand Lane and Humbert Street. The injured vehicle occupants were transported to Staten Island University Hospital for severe physical and internal injuries.
NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad reports that extensive mechanical modifications had been made to the uninspected Mustang. The suspect was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.
