Queens, NY – About two dozen cars were damaged and one driver got stuck when a 20-inch main broke under Vernon Boulevard at Queens Plaza South in Long Island City just after 4:00 a.m. on January 28. Water went gushing onto a block in Queens, flooding the basement of a nearby housing complex, due to a massive water main break. Firefighters extricated the driver to safety.
