Drunk FDNY Firefighter Kills SUV Driver in Commack Crash
New York City – An FDNY firefighter now faces multiple charges after killing an SUV driver for driving drunk in the wrong direction on Sunken Meadow Parkway in Commack. The fatal collision took place when the 38-year-old intoxicated driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado swerved out of the way and collided with a 2007 Mazda CX-7 SUV. Dozens of motorists, including an off-duty sheriff, tried to get his attention, but was ignored. The suspect lost both his legs in the crash, while the victim, a Kings Park teacher, was declared dead at the scene.
