Brooklyn, NY – A 69-year-old pedestrian was killed while trying to cross Avenue M in Midwood when a 65-year-old female driver of a 2020 Mercedes sedan, illegally making a U-turn at East 12th Street, struck the elderly woman just before 5:30 p.m. on November 23. The patient was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center where she died. The driver was arrested and charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian, a traffic device violation for disobeying a red light, failure to exercise due care, and making an illegal U-turn in the wrong lane.
