Good Samaritan Rescues Teenage Boy Plunging Through Central Park’s Icy Lake
New York City – A 14-year-old boy was rescued by a Good Samaritan after plunging through the thin ice coating on Central Park’s Swan Lake at around 2:10 p.m. on February 15. The Queens teen was crossing the icy lake near 59th Street and East Drive when he heard cracking and then fell into the icy pond. Fortunately, a passerby pulled him to safety. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition.
