New York City – A 27-year-old hiker is lucky to be alive after falling 100 feet down on an icy stone staircase at Kaaterskill Falls. The horrific incident occurred on March 5 when the Queens hiker, together with a friend, attempted to trek the icy staircase, but slipped and slid to the bottom of the falls. Rangers rescued the injured hiker and transported her to an area hospital for treatment.
