Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Into Parked Police Car Injuring Cop in Washington Square Park
Manhattan, NY – A police officer was injured after a suspected drunk driver crashed into a parked police patrol car in Washington Square Park at around 1:21 a.m. on November 29. The alleged 25-year-old intoxicated Queens man driving a blue Nissan Maxima lost control of the car, slammed into two concrete posts sending debris flying at least 50 feet, and struck a patrol car under the Fifth Avenue arch, endangering pedestrians nearby. The injured cop was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment of neck and back injuries.
