Cyclist Dies After Being Hit by Camaro on Brooklyn Speedway

Brooklyn, NY – A 29-year-old bicyclist was killed after he was struck by a 38-year-old driver of a 2020 Camaro SS on Brooklyn speedway at around 12:30 a.m. on September 10. The tragic incident occurred when the cyclist, whose identity was not immediately disclosed, was biking east on Avenue N and attempted to cross Ocean Parkway at the crosswalk when the Camaro operator traveling north on the thoroughfare collided with him. EMS personnel took the victim to Maimonides Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The six-lane thoroughfare became a speedway during the Covid-19 pandemic as reckless drivers sent multiple people to the hospital after traveling down Ocean Parkway at a high rate of speed.
